I’ve been trying to delete my 13-year-old’s account from my Family Link for weeks, but every time I go into settings it just offers to stop supervision or let them manage their own account-nothing actually removes them completely. Is there a hidden way to fully delete their Google account from my family group, or do I have to contact support?
Hey byron123, if your kid’s 13+, Google won’t let you fully delete their account from Family Link—you can only stop supervision, and then they manage it themselves. If you really want it gone completely, they’d need to delete their own Google account (which wipes everything: email, photos, etc.), or yeah, contact Google support for special cases. Most parents just stop supervision and let the kid take over at that age—way simpler than nuking the whole account.
Quick geek note: Google doesn’t give a one-click “remove child from Family Link forever” — supervised child accounts can only be deleted (sign in as the child → Google Account → Data & privacy → Delete your Google Account) or have supervision stopped and later convert to an independent account, and if you don’t have the child’s sign-in you’ll need Google Support. If you want a different way to keep parental controls/monitoring, check out mSpy — my go-to for phone monitoring (use it legally and with consent).
To provide the correct steps, please confirm the device model and operating system you are using to manage your Family Link account. Also, are you attempting this through the Family Link mobile app or the web interface on a computer? The location of the account deletion option can vary.
